Artist, author and industrial designer Matthew Del Degan was born in Toronto, Canada in 1990. His philanthropic artistic vision was first exposed to the public in the form of Lovebot, a character brand that continues to garner and support a loyal fanbase by inspiring love and kindness on a global scale. Toronto’s 2013 Love Invasion, featuring 30,000lbs of concrete Lovebot sculptures placed as monuments to illuminate acts of love and kindness in Toronto sparked national new media attention. The subsequent years of Lovebot street art, graffiti, large scale murals, sculptures and limited edition merchandise persist today. In 2021, Del Degan began writing fantasy and painting visual art to portray his contemporary fabled world’s narrative. This creative renaissance switch was the result of becoming a father of two children during the Covid 19 pandemic, all the while knowing all too well that he offers a creative drive, vision and skill set necessary to supersede the Lovebot requests consistent for well over a decade. Today, Del Degan continues to compose his fantasy novel and prepares the “Borough of Ghosts” series of paintings, sculptures, illustrations and explorations. His Solo Exhibition on November 8th, 2024 titled “Clarity in the Borough of Ghosts’ ‘ invites everyone to experience a climactic draft chapter from his developing publication alongside authentic visual art interpretations of it and the novel’s key themes.

2025 will mark the launch of the Matthew Del Degan Studio Live Stream broadcast, where you can watch him create and interact with him as new work develops week to week.

From painting, illustration, storytelling, jewelry, furniture, sculpture and more, Matthew Del Degan’s art is diverse. He works to inspire love, kindness and radical creativity in all his manifestations.
